Counterpoint: Enric Granados-Pau Casals

02/12/2004  - 23/01/2005

Counterpoint: Enric Granados-Pau Casals

Enric Granados and Pau Casals are two of the most important musicians of our times. Granados, with the piano, and Casals, with the cello, contributed to the artistic creation of the 20th century, sharing the fruit of their apparently contrasting but essentially united personalities... united by the love for their country, by their calling for music and by their unconditional friendship

The purpose of the exhibition is to show the relationship maintained by the two musicians through the letters, documents, scores and diverse objects that have been preserved over the years in the holdings of the Pau Casals Museum of El Vendrell, the Barcelona Music Museum, New York’s Metropolitan Opera House and the Musical Documentation Centre of the Generalitat of Catalonia.
