Workshops

The purpose of our music workshops is to expand on and supplement the tour of the Museum through an active experience of music and, in particular, of the cello. The workshops are directed by Laura Folch and Lito Iglesias, professional cellists with long educational experience.

  • Listening to the Cello and Playing It
    Listening to the Cello and Playing It

    Length: 1 hour
    Number of pupils: A maximum of 30 pupils accompanied by a teacher
    Age: 5 to 10 years
    Fee: 125 € per group
    Site: Multi-purpose Hall of the Museum

    The aim of the workshop is to give pupils a closer acquaintance with the cello and to allow them to discover the instrument’s various parts and sounds. After listening to diverse fragments from the cello repertoire, each child plays a cello within the framework of a group musical activity.

  • Our "Song of the Birds"

    Length: 1 hour and 30 minutes
    Number of pupils: A maximum of 30 pupils accompanied by a teacher
    Age: 10 to 14 years
    Fee: 150 € per group
    Site: Multi-purpose Hall of the Mus

    The aim of this workshop is to make a hands-on exploration of some of this folk melody’s elements and contents. The pupils work with percussion instruments and their voices to create their own version, which is recorded at the end of the workshop

  • The Sounds of the Cello

    Length: 1 hour
    Number of pupils: A maximum of 60 pupils accompanied by two teachers
    Age: 7 to 16 years
    Fee: 250 euros per group

    An introduction to the various parts of string instruments and their functioning. By playing diverse pieces of music, the cello’s sound possibilities are explored, including those produced with both the left hand and the right hand

  • Around the World with the Cello

    Length: 1 hour
    Number of pupils: A maximum of 60 pupils accompanied by two teachers
    Age: 7 to 16 years
    Fee: 250 euros per group

    A little cello concert with a repertoire of pieces from the five continents. Together with the musicians, the pupils explore the functioning of the cello, its sound resources and interpretive possibilities.

  • Let’s Travel Through History!

    Length: 1 hour
    Number of pupils: A maximum of 60 pupils accompanied by two teachers
    Age: 7 to 16 years
    Fee: 250 euros per group

    The purpose of this workshop is to listen to and recognise the various styles of music and the elements that shape them, through fragments of cello works from the foremost periods in musical history.
