Pau Casals Route

We invite you to discover the world of Pau Casals along a path imbued with vitality which leads from his Birth House, where you will become acquainted with the humble family setting in which the Maestro lived the early years of his childhood, to the Baroque organ of the church of El Vendrell, which Pau Casals began to play when he was nine years old, and to the Vil·la Casals, his summer house at Sant Salvador, now magnificently conditioned as a splendid modern museum.

The tour can be supplemented by visits to Pau Casals' tomb at the cemetery of El Vendrell; to the sculpture of Casals by Josep Viladomat, situated at the square called Plaça Nova in El Vendrell; to the chapel of Sant Salvador (11th century); to the Pau Casals monument by J.M. Subirachs, located at Plaça J.S. Bach in Sant Salvador, and to the Pau Casals Auditorium, which features a stable programme of music throughout the year, including the Pau Casals International Music Festival in the summer.
